An invitation from the pulpit committee of the east side church had brought us the 350 miles from Toronto, Canada, to visit the small mill town of Sharon, Pennsylvania. The weekend had been pleasant enough, insofar as the east side people were concerned. But the contrast between the broad clean streets of Toronto and the drab business section of Sharon seemed only to symbolize the intangible differences between the two places.
