GOMEZ,by Jack Smith, the hilarious account of how the author and his wife learn that it take God and Mr. Gomez to build a vacation dream house in Baja California, printed in 1974.This item is a book5 3/4" by 8 1/2" 217 page hardcover with dustjacket copy. This book is in good condition with some soiling and rubbing of the covers, the dustjacket has some small tears on it, the first pages has a sticker with previous owner’s name on it, the pages are clean and tight, I have not seen any writing on the pages. Contest includes: when Jack Smith and his wife, Denny, left the security of their Los Angles home one February afternoon to drive south for a holiday weekend , they had no premonition that fate would push them across the Mexican border and into a wonderful, hazardous and hilarious adventure. They were headed for a fateful meeting with a stranger named Gomez, who was to become their indispensable man. Gomez was the proprietor of a tiny story and fishing camp, on the beautiful but inaccessible peninsula of Baja California. They found him at the counter of his little store, and in an hour he had changed their lives forever. In the course of that hour, they had leased a piece of Mr. Gomez’s land, on a high bluff overlooking the pacific, and were feverishly planning the house that Gomez was going to build for them, and much, much more. This book does not have illustrations.
